Tremendous selection of art monographs and vintage literary books, with many first editions. Modest prices to boot. If there's a better bookstore in the northeast US, I haven't yet found it.

Well curated book store. Art books a-plenty. Selection is abundant but well-organized and neat, with plenty of room to browse if other customers are in the store. The owner was very sweet. I'm happy to stop in again soon!

One of the finest art and literature selections I’ve seen outside of a museum store, and boasts titles I’ve rarely seen. The literature section is broad ranging and full of modern classics. The space is minimal and focuses on the collection but feels spacious. It’s become one of my most favorite bookstore of Pittsburgh and anywhere. The shop owner Ryan is knowledgeable and helpful and has reserved an item or two for me knowing I’ll come in and immediately purchase it. Worth a visit—and a return visit!

An immaculate little bookstore with some amazing novels. Beautifully crafted bookshelves, displaying a wonderful selection of classics, many in protected book jackets. I made a little room on the shelves for more!

This is a magical place if you’re into early printings of cult literature (a lot of Grove Press!), old film books from the 60s, and art/photography books. I could never walk out empty-handed. Insanely well curated. Handsome space. Ryan is the real deal: knowledgeable, friendly, and devoted to his business. One of my favorite shops in Pittsburgh.

Hidden gem in Point Breeze! Bottom Feeder Books feels like a mini art gallery for books—bright, beautifully organized shelves, and a carefully curated mix of literature, film, and art titles. I loved browsing the thoughtful selection of used, new, rare, and collectible editions, and the prices were refreshingly fair. The owner clearly cares about curation and community: you’ll find early printings and hard-to-find gems alongside approachable $5 picks, plus occasional readings and small publisher events in a cozy gallery space. I walked out with a modernist novel and an art book I’ve never seen elsewhere—exactly the kind of serendipity you hope for in an indie shop.

Bottom Feeder is an absolute gem of a store. The selection is always excellent, mega stocked with really cool editions of mid-century to contemporary books. Ryan is super nice. You can tell the quality of the store is a result of his knowledge, taste, and care. The shop has also been showing local artists in a rotating gallery space in the back, which gives you even more of a reason to stop in and check out some rad books while you're at it.
